My Image On Snake Tips

I have urged you several times to check out John :The Snake” Barrett’s new website, The Snake Tips. John has a wealth of shooting experience and a very good eye for the little details that make a photo (or break it). He selects images submitted by readers and analyzes them for how they can be improved, made stronger. Gently, gently (lest you be scared off from submitting an image of your own). And he is very good at that process. So good, in fact, that I want to publicize that fact by using one of my own images as an example.

The image at the top of this post is one I took over in Brown County recently (on the porch of the Story Inn as a matter of fact). It certainly needed something to give it more punch, more oomph. I liked the photo, as it reminded me of the Inn’s overall feel and flavor (a great place for a meal and to shoot the grounds if you are at all close). So I sent the photo to Snake and he didn’t disappoint. Click here to visit his site and see the changes he suggested and how he did them. Better, eh? Stronger, eh? Worth sending him an image or two, eh?

Thank you, Snake. Now I have a direction to follow for a much better image than I submitted. You can use Snake to improve some of your photos, also, or just check out the critiques he already has done for others. There are lessons there to be learned.
