Update Your PocketWizard Minis. Canon 7D Firmware Update.
Today is maintenance day. The fantastic folks over at PocketWizard have updates for your ControlTL firmware (the Nikon and Canon MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 models). There are a bunch of improvements and added camera models for both the Canon and the Nikon versions, so click here to hop over to the PocketWizard site and start your downloads. You need their Utility version 1.35 to update all your gear, so make sure you are up-to-date with that on the same page as the link above.
And Canon has a great camera in their 7D (in my humble opinion). In fact, I can make the argument that the 7D was the last camera that they got completely right (yes, I know Nikon is suffering through a D800 issue of their own). In any event, click here to visit Canon’s site and download firmware version 2.0 (just pick your operating system, click on firmware for product and select version 2.0). You can read the flashy overview of what the firmware update is designed to do by clicking on this Canon news announcement. Hint: a welcome higher burst rate is included.
