More Bodie Ghost Town Photos From Great Photographers

Welcome back to a day in Bodie!

I have featured images from Bill Fortney and Jim Begley’s latest workshop in the Eastern Sierras ghost town of Bodie in the recent past (just scroll down my home page for a complete selection). And I have urged you repeatedly to check out the great photo work of good friends Richard Small and Raymond Jabola. It is with pleasure that I get to combine the two subjects – showing off more photos from Bodie by these two great photographers.

Raymond and Richard went back to Bodie last week and took their own private tour of the ghost town’s interiors. It made for a great shoot (I have seen a few of the images thus far and they are like beautiful time capsules), and the two had a wonderful time together (great location, super fellowship – what more could any of us ask for?). Thus far they have posted some of the images over at a favorite site, 500px, and the reception the photos are getting has been overwhelmingly positive. And deservedly so. Bodie is a great place in which to shoot, and getting to go behind the scenes is a real plus. Most tourists really enjoy themselves when only getting to view the town from the outside of the remaining buildings … Raymond and Richard take us up close and personal. More images are going to be coming, but these are worth you time today.

Click here to view Richard’s photos of Bodie over on 500px. Then click here to do the same for Raymond’s. This is a real trip back in time, and a real view of what a ghost town is all about. Thank you, Richard and thank you, Raymond!

  1. Nice post Jim. As you know, I found Raymond’s Bodie work at 500px and we regularly comment on each other’s photos there. Thanks also for the link to Richard’s 500px page. Looks like I missed out on a wonderful trip.
